Dog Poet Transmitting…….

(let’s try to get sequentially back in order and do a segue into the Visible Origami that we intended to get written in the first place)

I am continuously reminded of the cyclic nature of all things. This includes those positive sweeps of experience that move into the negative and back into the positive, like some kind of clockwork but I have yet to see the clock. Sometimes the positive will continue for a longer period and the same is true of the negative. You can be assured that the pacing and changing have much to do with the state of mind of the person it is happening to. Many people think of themselves as having a positive outlook but, below the surface it is a swirl of negativity because of the perpetual telepathic invasions taking place in the general consciousness. Let’s think of our minds as something like the control panel in a vehicle. There are levers and buttons and a wheel to steer by. Sometimes one of these mediums are more relevant than others; consider the controls of a plane or helicopter versus a car… versus a saucer pod for that matter. The human mind has buttons that can be pushed and levers that can be lifted or pressed on. Wheels can be turned to the left and right and sometimes pulled forward, up or down or to either side. Much of it has to do with how the mind is understood by the one being manipulated from within or without. The senses register everything, even when the mind of the one whose senses are an extension of it is unaware of the influence. Everything around us is advertising its presence; the birds in the sky, the people passing by, the actual advertisements for shit you don’t need. It’s broadcasting all the time.

Within the mind of anyone, there are degrees of vulnerability for particular forces of expression; food, sex, objects and positions for desired acquisition. Every individual is striving for some combination of all of them, to a lesser or greater extent. For some, the forces are overwhelming. For others is is simply an annoyance that is decreased or amplified by the presence or absence of their fellows in whatever relative thrall may exist; such as being in a populous city or a forested region, where you are more or less alone …except for wildlife. Of course, there is wildlife in the cities as well …but of a different order (grin).

A wise soul is aware of these forces. Generally, most of us are unaware of them, as concerns the forces being directed at them intentionally. Even when they have some idea that this is taking place, they are cognitively disconnected from the reality of it. It is like being a confused and driven refugee on an unlit highway of night. How do you get to a moment, just a moment, really, where you can see with clarity what is being done to you? Of course you can strive and strive and- against all odds, arrive at that moment. You could take enough clear and pristine LSD or Ayahuasca and hover or tremble for long enough to get the panorama view. Trauma could take you there, as well as extended suffering. Truthfully. I have personally employed or been subjected to each of these more than once and none of them have given me an extended view but each of them have, at least, given me the solitary moment aforementioned. What has given me a continuing awareness and what has sustained me in maintaining it has been the one guiding and leading me. Let me say for the umpteenth time; you don’t get there on your own.

Some might think that my humility and relentless obeisance to what we have yet to put a real name or form to is just part of the actions of a very clever mind. If that were the case, you have to ask yourself, “what has he gotten out of it thus far?” What hopes for the future in a depraved landscape can he expect as his calculated reward? Right. Of course, I could be the performance artist of insider trading but… if that were the case, who is it that has informed me and by which of my acts do you know me? Further let me ask, again, what’s in it for me? Clearly I seek entrance into the gates of Heaven and it won’t be because of my interstellar behavior but… all the things I am ’empowered’ to say are the net result of my having put myself in the way of the one who knows all things with the understanding that I know nothing.

Of what use would Heaven be to me if I could not greet you at the door? There are any number of empty heavens that are populated by single souled amoeba types who believed that getting there was enough and it never occurred to them that there is no point to the affair unless you have laid the bricks upon which others may pass. Heaven is not a lonely place. Perhaps, given whatever interpretation you place on it, misery loving company, certain other places are not lonely either. I suggest that everyone who finds themselves in a crowd of dancing isolationists… good for a night and gone in the morning aficionados, look back on how they felt, all by themselves in a crowd and ponder the meaning of it. Heaven is sharing and everywhere else is about acquiring what you are certain to lose but only when whatever that is has really got its hooks into you.

I think that by this point in the essay, you are experiencing both the complexity of it and the simplicity of it at the same time. This really has to do with whether your heart or your mind are engaged in the experience of it, more so than the other. Heart or mind …or you take it in the behind. Yeah, there is Visible again, taking a perfectly prosaic, spiritual treatise and rolling it in the mud. Try to remember what you have been formed out of, for the sake of appearances and what you have done with it; be you gollem or hero of the realm. Think hard and honestly; “what have you done?” meaning… on your own and… what has been accomplished through you by that power you may or may not be aware of? We DO NOT get there on our own, period. How I know this is secondary to whether it is true and since it is true, it doesn’t matter how I know it.

What is your primary job? Stand guard at the gateway of your mind!!! Utilize the heart at the only endeavor it is most gifted to perform… Love… love and continue to love until every star twinkling in those heavens of night, shine only in support of your having done so. Leave the rest to the ineffable who does all the work, including whatever work we imagine we have done because the power to do anything comes only from the divine, period.

Pray that you will be guided. Do not pray that you will be rewarded or elevated. Pray that you can be an anonymous gem, shining in that glorious diadem, upon the brow of the everlasting god. Pray that you can spend all your days in selfless service and consider yourself the luckiest of souls that you may serve and serve and serve again, never counting the cost or how much you think you are owed. Pray that your prayers are answered for everyone you have sent a prayer forth in appeal for …and understand that prayers for yourself are the last to be answered so… pray for others, of course!

Do not fruitlessly pursue those temporary things that are of no real value to you. Hold that wide angle vision in your hearts and minds that you understand that sacrifice is the highest expression of love and that doing so is so much greater an expression of the love of the divine than that of reckless murder under the transparent cover of whatever form of jihad you have been programmed into being deceived by; be that crusade or otherwise. I’ve got no time for any of that but… ♫give yourself away, give yourself away, each and every day …and you will find yourself given back to you. Don’t give details any mind, you’ll be paid back in kind so…give yourself away♫ etc…

I know we spend a lot of time and fingerwork getting to our point, as if we had one and as if we ever do but… it is the best we have been able to come up with. One of the hardest realizations any of us come to is comprehending with blessed assurance that God loves us. We can’t seem to get our heads around it. We know all too well, be it admitted or not, that we fall short of the mark and cannot see how the pristine and inviolable ineffable would waste his time on us. Try to remember that the divine sees us as we truly are, as well as what we might come to be and not… not as that composite snapshot of whatever momentary space we see ourselves falling short in. God sees himself in us, not our own separated and disenfranchised self but our true self. Simply try to live up to this. You will fail, of course, over and over again and every mistake will register how close you came but… until the ineffable is the action figure in the whole affair, your own aim will never get you there. Yes… like that old song says, ♫Jesus loves me this I know and not because the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong ♫ Call it any name you wish. Worship in whatever manner is the best fit for you. But do it as if it were your full time job. Do it as if it was the supreme drive in you, as if it were greater than any other hunger you possess, or… whichever hunger possesses you. Do it like that and you cannot fail. You, literally… cannot fail. May the ineffable guide your way and protect you in any circumstance that might arise. This is all I have to say and which I will say for as long as there is breath in my body and beyond that as well. Much love my friends!!!

End Transmission…….

We look at things, not into them. As a result, we operate on their surface meaning. What this means is that any deception which may be operating in the presentation is not being computed. We conspire in the deception by seeing what we desire which colors and shapes what appears. There is a collection of archetypes that exist within the human consciousness and they set ‘parameters and definitions’ as well as ‘limits and meaning’. You can juggle those two sets of terms and see a similarity there. Is it redundancy or an effort at greater clarity?

Archetypes have a resonant state of purity at the level of their being. As the force of their presence precipitates down the ladder into the murk, their meaning becomes ever more adjustable to those performing under the aegis, until they become the opposite of what they represent …but the claim is made that they still do. It is out of just this sort of a mindset that our political and religious leaders speak to us …and those who pretend to operate on behalf of humanity but serve only their own interests.

Most of us are familiar with examples of Zen art as well as other Buddhist and Taoist art. Perhaps you have seen one of a man seated by a lakeside contemplating the full moon on the water. Various observers are going to come up with different explanations for what the picture is meant to represent. Does it mean oneness with nature? Does it indicate a man at peace with himself? Is it a man sitting by a lake under the full moon, then something else and then… once again a man sitting by a lake under a full moon?

Still water in nature is a mirror. Everything is a projection of our minds. Everything is formed out of mind stuff and mirrored in nature or mirrored in our minds. Physicists have proven that the universe is thought born. Hard science has proven the existence of the primary thinker but people opposed to the concept will spin it the way they spin the Bible and the way they put together things like the NIST report. In some cases the Bible and the NIST report are very similar.

Okay… Let me see if I can communicate a simple and profound truth, the apprehension of which can radically alter your state of being and grant you control over yourself and all phenomena. Let me see… whatever appears in your mind takes life from your attention. Your mind is an airport. Planes land and planes depart. For most people a busy airport is a normal state of being. This is not normal in the ultimate sense. This is an example of a mind not in the control of the resident self. Who is the resident self? Ah… there’s your answer ‘in a nut-shell’.

If you can control what enters and leaves your mind you have attained a certain mastery of yourself and the world. The beginning of all spiritual achievement, illumination and realization begins with the control of the mind and goes nowhere without it. Job one is being able to refuse entry. Simply casting out every thought that enters will give you a taste of something marvelous. It depends on the individual how long this might take. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Try it and see. Patanjali’s Yoga Aphorisms/Sutras is all about this. My favorite is the Alice Bailey translation but you must suit your own temperament.

So… what is the man sitting by the lakeside doing? He’s not doing anything. His mind is a mirror. His being is resplendent in the purity of existence sans qualities. He could be thinking about getting his fishing pole and he could be thinking about anything. The interpretation is whatever the observer gives it. That is why the largest mass of humanity sees what they are shown according to the intentions of a controlling agency of temporal sway. There is a portion which is mad and that would include both those who are truly mad/deluded as well as the seer, the prophet and the mystic. Madness is a requirement on the path or… madness will be the result. One who has not gone mad cannot possibly deal with the things that exist above and below the frequency of the hamster world. One is well advised not to go below but one must be master of both. The good news is that the master is already present and will always be the master to the degree that it is allowed. Think of it as something like an unruly child who tears away from his mother’s hand in pursuit of the attractions of the playground. The mother knows what the child will encounter but her great love does not permit her to detain him. Her eye is on the child as the child experiences the impacts of the world upon the mind. It’s all part of the story anyway.

Both types of humanity use this ability for good and for ill. This is why it is all important that one be grounded in selfless intent. There are many instances of seekers acquiring powers as a result of spiritual austerities and then being plunged into unfortunate circumstances as a result of not being grounded in selfless intent.

I am writing this in response to the Smoking Mirrors post that treats with the Time Monks predictions. It does appear that there are going to be enormous changes and uncertain conditions coming upon humanity in a short time. Though it appears to be taking place outside of you, it is actually taking place in your mind and will have the power and the life that you give it to the degree of your attention and your belief in the mind-shaped mirror mirage that forms before you. Mind comes first. Then comes the shapes and sounds within and without. Is the outside in control or is the inside in control?

This may seem confusing and not expressed with the clarity one might hope for …but that’s intentional. Unless one is rooted in a particular understanding then confusion is the result. As the mind descends ever deeper into identification with external phenomena the confusion increases and that is what we have today. That confusion is going to be blown away and it won’t be pleasant depending on the degrees of attachment to external phenomena. This is what materialism results in… anywhere, any time, any place.

Cast all thoughts out of your head and center on the indwelling awareness. This is what is in charge and you acknowledge and join with that to the degree that you reject the other. Do not buy into the other. What is real, that which is enduring beyond recycling of the temporary or the temporary? It sounds clear, simple and easy to do. Try it. Then you see what you’re up against. What you are up against is yourself. That’s cleared right up if there is only one of you but… there seems to be at least two of you. One is watching in an unchanging state and one is performing in a constantly changing environment.

When you see… do you actually see what is outside you or do you see it inside your head? Consider how the sense of sight operates. Consider also that when you learned to walk you saw the world upside down. This was the difficulty that you encountered in learning to walk. An adjustment was made which turned the world right side up (if that can be called, ‘right side up’). Think about a camera works or looking into the surface of a still lake.

If we learn to cast out all thought and focus on the indwelling singularity of our eternal self we shall not be at the mercy of the foolish misapprehensions of our temporary self occupied with a temporary period of adjustment in a world of endless ongoing adjustments. Is the boogeyman going to get you? How real did you make him?

Will the New Shangri-La become real? Is it not already as real as anything is? Does it not need to exist in your mind before it exists as an extended environment? Is it not present wherever you are? Must you not act as if you are already there in order to arrive there? The point is not in creating a community. That is an extension of you. You are that community at this very moment. There are people walking on this Earth at this very moment who are also constantly walking in the Kingdom of God. That is also a state of mind. You don’t ‘go’ there. You are there or you are not. Heaven begins where your feet touch the ground.

You are that man or woman (as if there were actually a distinction) sitting by the lake. We are all sitting by the lake but we are not all seeing the same thing. Every animal that goes to the water to drink sees the image of themselves and thinks that is what is real.

We have conspired to bring ourselves to this point in order to learn. Will we embrace the truth in what we are shown or …will we resist it on behalf of what we think we want …in defense of what we think we have? You don’t need to be affected beyond what you are going to allow entrance into your mind as being real. Nothing is real but something is. Set your mind on the real and the details will operate to that end.

I love You

When you go looking in a search engine for the answer to the question, “How many Buddha’s are there?” you are not going to find a definitive answer. In one Buddhist tradition it is said there is only one Buddha per age. I heard, some time ago, that there are as many Buddha’s as there are grains of sand on the seashore. What should be kept in mind and which also answers this question, without giving a specific answer is… everyone has Buddha nature. It’s something that can be developed.

You could take some period of time and wander through the towns and cities, in the manner of Diogenes, searching for an honest man and ask people what the primary goal of their life was. You could have a few questions to determine priorities. You could ask the relevant question according to the land you were in. In the East you could ask about Krishna or Buddha. In the West you could ask about Christ. You could ask about Islam in either. You would ask according to what was prevailing there as a prototype for realization or enlightenment.

In your search, you would want to differentiate between accepted religious beliefs; dogma and cant… and an actual intensity of pursuit. You want to find out how many people are searching for a greater awareness in the moment in which you find them. Go ahead, ask them. If this last point were to be taken as a vital criteria, then… you would find that the number of people you encountered who could be identified as being engaged in awakening their Buddha nature was very, very small. In times of pervasive materialism you would find the number to be smaller still.

You do not have to ask anyone these questions. You can sit in any park on a Sunday; walk along a beach in summer, on any city street on any evening, into bars, nightclubs and theaters and simply watch. You can attune yourself to determining the focus of the people you are observing. You may not penetrate into their deepest thoughts- it is likely they will not either- but you can get a general idea.

Churches are mostly locked up at night in these times but some are open and you could compare the population of a church at night to any of the centers for amusement. Church attendance is often not a sign of spirituality, as much as it is a measure of conformity but an open church, such as we have here in Europe, shows you what kind of traffic there is during the times that services are not being held. You have to consider that the larger portion of those you will find in a church in these times… you have to consider that they are there because of some pressing life problem, as opposed to a driving intensity to know their maker and themselves.

The wild places of nature have always been sanctuaries and havens for those seeking to commune with the ineffable. If you wander in these places you will very seldom find anyone engaged in what I am talking about. Some numbers of people are practicing spiritual inquiry …and remembrance …as they go through their day and while moving through the world. You have to assume that this number is also very small. It appears that very, very few people are engaged in seeking to find what authored the process in which they find themselves.

In the comments section at another blog I posted this interesting series of pictures which shows us how infinitesimally small we are. You could take what is shown here and apply it to the universe within. You could apply it to this search I am talking about and you could apply it to the question of how many Buddha’s there are. You could apply it to the question of how many sincere seekers there are in any faith. You could apply it to the population of the marketplace as opposed to the number of cave dwelling yogis which inhabit the Himalayas. You would need to factor in endless time and the absence of time altogether. You would need to factor in the possibilities that there may be living worlds like our own in many places across the universe. There are so many factors that you would get no real answer but… you would get a sense of immensity that exceeded your ability to grasp it.

As you follow the progression of pictures, give careful consideration to what was discovered when the Hubble telescope was focused on what appeared to be empty space for four months.

I am using Buddha’s as an example. You can pick any tradition. You have to probe for what I am trying to say because there is no way to say it. What’s being presented here is not exactly what is being said.

Every Buddha generates out of their being, an entire world, or type of solar system or galaxy that is freely given for any who would seek sanctuary there. Every spiritual being, who has achieved realization, generates a space where the determined soul can enter and where the clamorous sounds of the ravenous world can be muted for the purpose of self-inquiry. The Amitabha Buddha has The Western Pure Land. Traditionally there are six realms in the Buddhist cosmology. Hinduism, Christianity and Islam have comparative circumstances where the same place is differently designed to accommodate the trappings of what the followers of any tradition might expect. It’s what’s known as ‘user friendly’.

There are other planes of existence. Whatever you are thinking and feeling at the moment and whatever occupies your interest is determining your direction. You are actually headed somewhere at this very moment even if you are sitting down. Go back into the marketplace and look at the size of the crowd and observe the desire bodies at work. The interplay of behavior, desire and relative components all serve to create something like an automobile on the highway. Realization and the higher virtues have never been a main consideration of the mass. The mass actually operates in opposition to these things. There are people of seemingly high intelligence who have all the answers and no interest in what lies beyond their areas of concern.

These individuals have already determined the value of everything they do not know based on what they have assumed to be true, based on what they prefer to believe. Many of them will tell you there are no other worlds; there is no divine authority, there is no purpose to life other than what has been scientifically determined and so on and so forth. They are ‘dead’ certain that what exists within their bandwidth is all that there is, even while their own sciences prove otherwise.

Perhaps you are one of those rare souls who actually care about what might lie beyond this fire world. How can you find your way out of this place? You have to head somewhere and you must have a guide. Consider the nature of vibration. Consider the nature of sympathetic vibration and how this might lead you to acquire both direction and guide.

You are climbing a mountain. This requires energy and determination. You must know or believe that what you are seeking lies at some point along your route. This is certitude. Something must carry you through the certain tests that you will encounter. This is faith. If you google these words you will find that they are tenants of Islam. You will find the same in every legitimate tradition and you will find that the truth realized is hidden in the outer world and revealed in the inner world. Outward are the wars between everything. Inward is the resolution of all conflict. Confusing this leads to the eternal problem.

You can’t take anyone with you but you will find companions on the way. If you are content with what you have here then this will not apply to you. If you are not content then you will have no peace until you seek, because, the very distress you feel is the impetus to the search. One needs to hone their intensity by the hour. This is the primarily important thing. Nothing else is important except for good behavior on the way. Persevere and you will see Buddha’s beyond counting and more, far more than your imagination can presently conceive.

I Need More Light.
